NY Highways is offering a permanent role for a Highways Skilled Operative with LGV in Skipton, North Yorkshire. The position provides stability, development, and an opportunity to contribute to North Yorkshire’s local infrastructure.

You’ll work with an experienced team delivering essential highway improvements, including kerbing, drainage, traffic management, and emergency callouts. A permanent role with training and progression awaits.

Qualifications

• Experience in highways tasks or highways plant operation.
• HGV driving licence required.
• Abrasive wheels qualification.
• Traffic management TM1 and TM2.
• Level 2 highway maintenance qualification or equivalent experience.

Responsibilities

• Carry out routine and seasonal highway maintenance works.
• Kerbing, drainage, patching and ironwork repairs.
• Traffic management and verge upkeep.
• Operate highways plant and equipment.
• Join out-of-hours rota for emergencies.
