Overview

Permanent Graduate Teaching Assistant – Mainstream Secondary School, Hayes, Hillingdon, West London. ASAP / September or October 2025. Salary: £19,000 to £21,000 (Term time only, Full time).

An excellent secondary school located in Hillingdon is looking for a motivated teaching assistant who can work with children on a one-to-one basis and in small groups. The school values academic knowledge and is seeking someone who shares this ethos.

You will work alongside teachers and other teaching assistants to support children in their attainment and progress. You will need to support children’s learning up to GCSE level, adapt to individual needs, and make observations and carry out sessions instructed by the teacher to improve progress. The role is a full-time contract for the full year and may extend for the right person. The school also considers hiring prospective future teachers looking to complete their SCITT / teacher training.

Responsibilities
  • Support students on a one-to-one basis and in small groups to aid attainment and progress.
  • Assist with learning up to GCSE level, adapting to the needs of individual children.
  • Make observations and carry out instructional sessions as directed by the classroom teacher.
  • Collaborate with teachers and other teaching assistants to deliver the curriculum.
Key Skills and Experience
  • Degree is preferred, in subjects such as psychology or sociology.
  • Experience working with children.
