Job summary

Alder Hey Children’s NHS Foundation Trust is recruiting a People Services Officer (Band 4) to support HR administration, advisory services, and casework for managers and staff across the Trust. You’ll report to the Lead for Employee Relations & Policy and help ensure processes run smoothly across workforce systems.

With a focus on first-line advice, you will handle policies, procedures, and terms and conditions, escalating complex issues to a People Services Advisor.

Qualifications

• Level 3 CIPD qualification or equivalent experience
• Associate CIPD membership
• Working towards Level 5 CIPD qualification
• Sufficient recent experience in a Generalist HR Admin capacity
• Experience using HR databases to record and access information
• Experience guiding managers on policies and procedures
• Experience in providing administrative support and minute taking
• Experience of working in a HR function in the NHS
• Experience handling employee relations issues at early stages
• Knowledge of ESR and HR office systems

Responsibilities

• Provide first-line HR advice on policies, procedures and terms and conditions, escalating complex queries
• Support employee relations cases, meetings and hearings, including administration and minute-taking
• Carry a small caseload of casework from yourself
• Maintain workforce records, monitor reports and flag concerns
• Coordinate training, job evaluation panels and information requests
• Manage shared mailboxes and confidential records, and support service improvements
