Job summary

Pencil is seeking a skilled automation-minded professional to own the People Ops automation stack. You will design and scale AI agents, data integrations, and workflows across HiBob, Ashby, and Remote, improving speed and reducing manual work for onboarding, lifecycle changes, and compliance.

Qualifications

• Hands-on with automation/workflow tools like Zapier, Make, n8n, Retool.
• Built or configured AI agents.
• Experience with structured data and APIs and data integrity.
• Experience as systems admin of SaaS platforms across HRIS/ATS/EOR stacks (HiBob, Ashby, Remote).
• Experience in a high-growth, remote multi-geography setup.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain automations and workflows across People Ops tooling.
• Own the data layer: keep HiBob/Ashby/Remote data clean and integrated.
• Lead onboarding end-to-end and automate manual steps.
• Administer lifecycle changes and build validation, alerts, and guardrails.
• Create SOPs, checklists, and playbooks for onboarding and offboarding.
• Partner on UK employment compliance and governance.
