Job summary

Prospero Teaching, recruiting on behalf of a leading education organisation in Bridgwater, seeks a People & OD Advisor to provide professional HR support across multiple education settings. You will handle employee relations matters and contribute to organisational development within a collaborative People Team.

The role requires CIPD Level 5 or equivalent HR experience, strong employment law knowledge and experience advising managers.

Qualifications

• CIPD Level 5 qualification or equivalent HR experience.
• Experience managing a broad range of employee relations cases.
• Strong knowledge of employment law and HR best practice.
• Experience providing professional advice to managers and stakeholders.
• Excellent communication, coaching and relationship-building skills.
• Strong organisational and IT skills, including Microsoft Office 365.
• Experience within education, schools or academies.
• Experience working across multiple sites.
• Knowledge of safeguarding compliance.
• Experience working with trade unions.

Responsibilities

• Act as the primary HR contact for allocated schools and departments.
• Provide advice and guidance on employee relations matters including disciplinary, grievance, capability, absence management and organisational change.
• Coach and support leaders to develop effective people management skills.
• Manage an employee relations caseload and support investigations and formal meetings.
• Contribute to wellbeing, engagement and inclusion initiatives.
• Support policy development, organisational change projects and people-focused improvements.
• Deliver HR training and briefings to managers.
• Analyse workforce data and identify trends, risks and opportunities.
• Support compliance with safeguarding, safer recruitment and HR best practice.
