Job summary

City of Wolverhampton Council seeks a knowledgeable People Consultant to join our People Services Team. You will provide expert HR advice across the organisation, helping to resolve complex queries and support managers with policy, employment law and processes.

This is a permanent, full-time role (37 hours) with flexible hybrid work. You will manage a diverse caseload including disciplinary, grievance, capability and attendance, while building strong relationships with stakeholders to deliver

Qualifications

• Sound knowledge of employment law.
• Experience in providing expert HR advice and guidance.
• Ability to manage complex cases including disciplinary, grievance, capability and attendance.

Responsibilities

• Respond to and resolve complex queries that require expert HR advice and guidance.
• Ensure advice adheres to employment law, HR policies, processes and business need in a timely manner.
• Manage a diverse work programme of complex cases (disciplinary, grievance, capability and attendance).
• Provide advice, guidance and support to managers in restructures.
• Facilitate and lead meetings with managers and employees on difficult subjects, including health issues, dismissals and restructures.
