Job summary

Brighton & Hove City Council is seeking an HR Consultant to join the HR Advisory Team in a hybrid role based at Hove Town Hall. The post focuses on complex employee relations casework and delivering a high-quality HR advisory service across council services and schools.

The role is fixed-term until 31 January 2028 with interviews on 17 November 2026. Salary is £35,570–£40,444 with 37 contractual hours and flexi-hours, and a pro-rata consideration for part-time work.

Qualifications

• Deliver a HR Advisory Service to employees and Managers which builds the capacity of line managers and staff to resolve people management issues effectively and professionally.
• Contribute to the effective running of the HR Advisory Service by working flexibly across all directorates and ensuring a professional and high quality service is delivered at all times.
• Manage complex case work using a variety of approaches and to lead on specific projects as directed by the Human Resource Managers.
