Job summary

West Midlands Combined Authority is seeking an Assistant People Business Partner (Projects) to ensure the people side of change is planned, understood and delivered across the Transport programme and related projects.

The role involves workforce planning, retention, engagement, TUPE, and advising leaders on people policies. It is a 3-year fixed-term contract with hybrid working, requiring in-office presence two days a week at Birmingham.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in a People business partnering setting (APB preferred).
• Experience working with senior leaders.
• Educated to at least degree level; CIPD Level 5 HR is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Provide proactive People and Culture support to the Bus Franchising and Transport programme and wider projects.
• Build trusted relationships with Directors, Heads of Service, and project teams providing advice on policies and workforce challenges.
• Support workforce planning projections, retention, engagement, and change management; identify risks early.
