Job summary

Southdown is a not-for-profit provider of care, housing and support in Sussex. We are hiring a fixed-term HR Advisor (People Advisor) to support managers and colleagues with HR matters, including employee relations cases and probation processes.

You will contribute to policy development and help implement changes in line with Employment Rights Act considerations. This hybrid role requires a CIPD Level 5 qualification or progress toward it and a collaborative, service‑moc­ked approach within a

Qualifications

• Experience in managing performance, policy development and organisational restructures.
• Ability to build and maintain excellent working relationships with managers and colleagues.
• Provide coaching, advice and guidance on a range of HR activities including flexible working, maternity and statutory requirements.
• Experience of supporting formal investigations.
• Knowledge of employment legislation, GDPR and HR compliance standards.

Responsibilities

• Provide practical HR advice and support to managers and colleagues.
• Manage a range of HR matters including sickness, attendance, capability, conduct, grievances and probation.
• Support policy development and implement changes relating to the Employment Rights Act.
