Job summary

South Yorkshire Pensions Authority is seeking a Pensions Officer on a 12-month fixed-term contract, full-time, to join our Benefits Team. This is an entry-level role with structured progression and full training in pensions administration.

You will deliver a customer-focused pensions service to members, dependants, employers and stakeholders, supporting our Customer Centre and meeting statutory obligations. Hybird working options apply after probation.

Qualifications

• A Level 2 qualification or equivalent, with willingness to study further.
• Basic understanding of Health and Safety regulations and procedures.
• Good IT skills with experience using standard office software.
• Clear written and verbal communication skills.
• Competence with general office equipment and systems.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to prioritise tasks.

Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality, customer-focused pensions administration.
• Support the Customer Centre and handle enquiries on a rota basis.
• Help meet service charters and statutory obligations with accurate information.
• Assist colleagues across the team with timely pension information.
