Job summary

Cafcass is hiring a Pensions, Benefits and Payroll Officer (0.5 FTE) to support pensions, benefits and payroll activities across Leeds, Manchester, Birmingham or Coventry. The role offers flexible/hybrid working and a pro-rata salary band of £29,883–£31,678.

You will work with Payroll and Benefits colleagues to ensure accurate monthly pension, benefit and payroll processing and liaise on changes affecting total reward packages.

Qualifications

• Must be accurate and detail-focused when handling sensitive information.
• Experience of staff benefits administration in a large organisation.
• Experience of pensions administration, ideally LGPS or similar.
• Knowledge of payroll processes and related legislation.
• Good numeric ability and proficiency with MS Office (Excel/Outlook).

Responsibilities

• Input routine pension changes and notifications to the pension fund online portal with accurate pay data.
• Support monthly pension processing and auto-enrolment activity.
• Assist administration of employee benefits (health cash plans, AVCs, salary-sacrificed benefits).
• Respond to routine pensions/payroll/benefits queries from colleagues and HR teams.
• Provide cover for routine payroll inputting when needed.
• Maintain accurate records and streamline filing systems.
• Assist with reporting, year-end activity and audits.
• Develop relationships with external providers such as the pension fund.
