Job summary

The London Borough of Sutton is seeking a Full-time Pension Administrator to join the Communications team. You will manage the pensions email box, handle enquiries by phone and email, index incoming correspondence and support colleagues with LGPS training.

The role requires strong administration experience and good communication skills. Hybrid working is available, with standard hours 9am–5pm, and interviews planned online.

About you

We are seeking a Full time Pensions Administrator to join our Communications team. Administration experience and good communication skills, both verbal and written, are essential for this role. While prior experience with the Local Government Pension Scheme (LGPS) is desirable, it is not required as full training will be provided.

The successful candidate must be self-motivated, able to work independently, and capable of prioritising their own workload to meet strict deadlines. You will be a team player and collaborate on answering complex queries with other teams in our department when required. You will need the ability to interpret complex legislation and explain it clearly in plain English when answering member queries by email and phone.

Additionally, we require someone who is dedicated to their own continuous personal development.

About Us

This role is in the Communications sub-team within the London Borough of Sutton & Royal Borough of Kingston Shared Pension Service. As part of the team you will be managing the pensions email box, dealing with enquiries (by email and telephone) from members, employers and other pension scheme administrators. You will also carry out other administrative tasks, including indexing incoming mail and updating data on the pension system.

The position is open to hybrid working, but regular attendance in the office is mandatory. Our working hours are 9am to 5pm Monday to Friday.
