Job summary

Local Pensions Partnership Administration (LPPA) is seeking a Head of Pension Systems to drive the strategic direction, development and operational capability of the UPM-based pension platform. You will manage Civica relationships and partner ecosystems to ensure robust, compliant and scalable services for members, employers and clients.

Qualifications

• Proven experience of managing a pension administration system (UPM preferred).
• Understanding of UK pension administration processes and regulatory requirements.
• Experience in system configuration, workflow design and governance.
• Leadership experience of a support and/or development team.
• Proven leadership in talent development, performance management and accountability.
• Experience managing suppliers and third party service providers.
• Strong stakeholder engagement, communication and analytical skills.
• Experience with Civica UPM, SQL databases and system integration.

Responsibilities

• Own development and governance of the UPM platform and related portals.
• Lead the Pensions Systems team, ensuring high‑quality support and delivery.
• Oversee release management, testing and safe deployment of changes.
• Drive automation to reduce manual processes and improve efficiency.
• Manage relationships with Civica and technology suppliers.
• Collaborate with external organisations to share best practice.
• Act as incident manager for performance and availability issues.
