Job summary

Reed is seeking a Payroll Manager for a part-time, hybrid role on the outskirts of Bath. The position involves taking ownership of payroll during a period of transformation, moving from outsourced to in-house, and implementing a new HR/payroll system.

Responsibilities include overseeing the end-to-end payroll for around 600 staff, ensuring HMRC compliance, and leading transition projects. Flexible up to 22.5 hours weekly with benefits and a supportive team environment.

Qualifications

• Significant end-to-end payroll experience.
• Strong payroll legislation knowledge.
• Payroll and pensions administration experience.
• Experience working with payroll and HR systems.
• Advanced Excel skills.
• High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
• Confidence to operate as a standalone payroll specialist.

Responsibilities

• Manage the end-to-end monthly payroll process for circa 600 employees.
• Lead payroll implementation and transition projects.
• Ensure payroll compliance with HMRC and statutory requirements.
• Manage pension administration and auto-enrolment activities.
• Complete payroll reconciliations and reporting.
• Produce payroll reports, forecasts and audit information.
• Act as the key contact for payroll and pension queries.
• Drive continuous improvements to payroll processes and systems.
