Job summary

Artis Recruitment is helping a friendly, collaborative business in North Bristol hire a Payroll Specialist. You will ensure UK and overseas colleagues are paid accurately and on time while also helping to continually improve the payroll function behind the scenes.

You will run monthly payroll end-to-end, handle starters, leavers, promotions and deductions, and support year-end activities. This role offers autonomy within a supportive team, with a flexible hybrid working pattern.

Qualifications

• Experience running monthly payroll end-to-end.
• Knowledge of PAYE, National Insurance, pensions.
• Ability to handle payroll changes and queries with accuracy.

Responsibilities

• Run accurate monthly payroll from start to finish.
• Manage changes including starters, leavers, promotions, bonuses, deductions.
• Prepare and check payroll reports, reconciliations and payments.
• Ensure PAYE, NI, pensions and other statutory requirements are correct.
• Respond to payroll queries clearly and professionally.
• Collaborate with HR and Finance to keep data up to date.
• Support year-end activities such as P11Ds and P60s.
• Identify improvements to payroll processes and controls.

We're looking for a Payroll Specialist to join a fantastic business in North Bristol who offer a flexible hybrid working approach. This is a role where your payroll expertise really matters as you'll be responsible for making sure UK and overseas colleagues are paid accurately and on time whilst also helping to continually improve the way payroll works behind the scenes.

Day to day responsibilities will be:

• Running accurate and timely monthly payroll from start to finish.
• Managing payroll changes including starters, leavers, promotions, bonuses, deductions and statutory payments.
• Preparing and checking payroll reports, reconciliations and payments.
• Ensuring PAYE, National Insurance, pensions and other statutory requirements are handled correctly.
• Responding to payroll queries with professionalism, clarity and a genuinely helpful approach.
• Working closely with HR, Finance and other teams to keep employee information accurate and up to date.
• Supporting year-end activities, including P11Ds and P60s.
• Keeping up to date with payroll legislation and identifying opportunities to improve processes, systems and controls.
