Job summary

Reed is seeking a Payroll Professional to take full ownership of the payroll cycle, from onboarding to payment, with a focus on accuracy and compliance.

The role requires strong knowledge of UK payroll legislation, pension and NI rules, RTI submissions, and payroll reconciliations. You will work closely with HR to keep employee data up to date and liaise with HMRC and pension providers, producing payroll reports and supporting finance projects.

Qualifications

• Experience in Payroll Specialist/Officer roles.
• Strong knowledge of UK payroll legislation, pensions, NI and statutory payments.
• Experience with RTI submissions and payroll reconciliations.

Responsibilities

PAYROLL PROFESSIONAL - CHESHIRE - PERMANENT

Looking for a payroll role where you can take full ownership, make a real impact, and be valued for your expertise?

We're partnering with a growing organisation seeking an experienced Payroll Specialist to join its Finance team. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who thrives on accuracy, enjoys problem-solving, and takes pride in delivering a seamless payroll service across the business.

What You'll Be Doing

• Managing the full payroll cycle from new starters through to payroll completion and payment.
• Processing statutory payments, pensions, RTI submissions, tax code changes and payroll documentation.
• Preparing payroll journals, accruals and reconciliations.
• Working closely with HR to maintain accurate employee data.
• Acting as a key contact for payroll, pay, deduction and pension queries.
• Liaising with HMRC, pension providers and other external stakeholders.
• Producing payroll reports and supporting wider finance projects.

What We're Looking For

• Previous experience in a Payroll Specialist, Payroll Officer or Senior Payroll position.
• Strong knowledge of UK payroll legislation, pensions, National Insurance and statutory payments.
• Experience with RTI submissions and payroll reconciliations.
• Excellent attention to detail and strong Excel skills.
• CIPP qualification or equivalent payroll experience would be advantageous.
