Job summary

Four Squared is a well-established accountancy practice providing payroll services to a diverse client base. The Payroll Officer will manage a portfolio of clients and ensure accurate, compliant payroll processing.

You will handle weekly, fortnightly and monthly payrolls, administer pensions and deductions, and produce essential payroll documents. The role requires excellent communication and independent deadline management in a client-facing environment.

Qualifications

• Experience in payroll management across multiple clients.
• Strong knowledge of payroll legislation and HMRC requirements.
• Experience with workplace pensions and auto-enrolment.
• Ability to process payroll from start to finish.
• Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills.

Responsibilities

• Managing an allocated portfolio of payroll clients
• Processing weekly, fortnightly and monthly payrolls
• Administering statutory payments and deductions
• Managing workplace pension schemes and pension uploads
• Producing payroll documentation including P45s and P60s
• Registering new clients with HMRC for PAYE
• Monitoring HMRC accounts and investigating discrepancies
• Processing benefits and year-end payroll activities
• Advising clients on payroll-related matters
• Building and maintaining strong client relationships
• Supporting payroll legislation compliance and best practice
• Identifying opportunities to improve payroll processes and efficiencies
