Job summary

Jdt Group is seeking an experienced Payroll Officer for a fixed-term maternity cover at our Head Office in Dorset. You will own the end-to-end monthly PAYE payroll cycle, oversee CIS processing and expense payments, and provide cover for the Purchase Ledger as required.

The role allows full or part-time arrangements (27 hours per week or more) with on-site responsibilities. You will manage HMRC submissions, tax codes, workplace pension contributions, and year-end processes, ensuring accurate

Qualifications

• CIPP qualification or AAT Level 3 Diploma is mandatory.
• Sole-charge payroll experience with UK payroll
• Knowledge of UK payroll legislation and HMRC reporting
• Experience with Construction Industry Scheme (CIS) administration
• Proficiency with Sage 50 Accounts or similar finance and payroll packages.

Responsibilities

• Run end-to-end monthly UK payroll, HMRC submissions and tax code updates.
• Administer CIS returns and maintain subcontractor records.
• Produce BACS payment files for payroll and weekly subcontractor payments.
• Calculate and communicate weekly recharges to delivery partners.
• Oversee year-end returns (P60s, P11D) and pension reconciliations.
• Post payroll journals on Sage 50 and reconcile payroll accounts.
• Process expense claims and manage petty cash.
• Liaise with HMRC on tax codes and compliance queries.
• Provide cover for purchase ledger activities as needed.
