Job summary

The Progeny Group Limited is seeking a Payroll Assistant on a fixed-term maternity cover to support the Finance Department with accurate and compliant monthly payroll delivery. You will manage end-to-end payroll tasks, from new starters to year-end duties, including pensions, SSP, SMP and statutory requirements.

The role requires experience across the full payroll lifecycle, strong attention to detail, and good communication skills to support employees and stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Approved certification or working towards such an award (e.g., CIPP) desirable but not essential.
• 3+ years of payroll experience across full lifecycle.
• Strong understanding of payroll regulations, tax and PAYE.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and process monthly payroll runs accurately and on time.
• Handle new starters, leavers, payroll changes, pension administration and statutory payments.
• Respond to employee payroll queries and provide timely, professional support.
• Generate standard and ad-hoc payroll reports for management.
