The Payroll Officer will be responsible for managing payroll processes within a successful industry sector, ensuring accuracy and compliance with regulations. This permanent role offers an excellent opportunity to contribute to the smooth operation of the accounting and finance department.

Description
  • Duties of the role will include:
  • To ensure all employees are paid on time, correctly and per UK law.
  • Process weekly payroll ensuring all deadlines are met and employees are paid on time and in line with company and legislative policies
  • Deal with pay disputes/queries
  • Send RTI's to HMRC
  • Update holiday pay rate spreadsheet
  • Update reports for the Finance Director
  • Process leavers, calculate outstanding holiday pay and issue P45's
  • Creating labour reports
  • Process payroll for monthly paid employees
  • Raise 3rd party payments (Court orders etc)
  • Process employee expenses
  • Reconciling wages to nominal ledger
  • Manage Payroll year end process including year end, P60's and P11d's
  • Fleet management including ordering new vehicles and drivers licence checks.
  • Update finance team holiday record
  • Manage the company reward scheme
  • Assisting the production manager with labour costings
  • Maintain confidentiality and ensure data security at all times.
  • Handle payroll queries and resolve discrepancies efficiently.
  • Collaborate with the accounting and finance department on relevant tasks.
  • Support the implementation of payroll systems and process improvements.
Profile

A successful Payroll Officer should have:

  • Previous experience in payroll processing and Finance administration.
  • Knowledge of payroll regulations and compliance requirements.
  • Proficiency in payroll software and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion.
  • Effective communication skills for resolving queries and collaborating with teams.
