Job summary

GXO Logistics is seeking a Payroll Governance & Controls Analyst to safeguard payroll integrity across the organisation, with an emphasis on governance, controls and compliance.

Based in our Central Offices in Northampton with hybrid work options (3 days in the office). The role covers Payroll, HR, Finance, Technology and external partners to drive continuous improvement and minimise operational risk.

Qualifications

• Strong knowledge of end-to-end payroll processes and UK payroll legislation.
• Experience in governance, compliance, risk, audit, or controls including SOX.
• Excellent analytical and reporting skills.
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
• Proactive, detail-oriented mindset focused on continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

• Lead payroll governance and controls activities across payroll ops.
• Support SOX readiness and coordinate audits.
• Maintain runbooks, risk registers, issue logs and action trackers.
• Identify payroll risks and drive corrective actions.
• Partner with Payroll, HR, Finance, Tech and third parties to strengthen governance.
