GXO Logistics, Inc. is seeking a Payroll Governance & Controls Analyst in Northampton with hybrid working (3 days in the office). You will safeguard payroll integrity, lead governance, and coordinate audits across Payroll, HR, Finance, and Technology.

The role emphasizes continuous improvement, risk management, and strong stakeholder engagement to ensure compliant payroll operations and timely remediation actions.

Qualifications

• Strong payroll governance and controls experience in a large organisation.
• Knowledge of UK payroll legislation and SOX/audit readiness.
• Proficient in data analysis and Excel.

Responsibilities

• Lead payroll governance and controls activities by auditing runbooks, testing controls, and maintaining governance frameworks across payroll operations.
• Ensure audit and regulatory readiness by supporting SOX requirements, coordinating audits, collecting evidence, and tracking remediation actions.
• Maintain accurate payroll documentation and risk management processes, including runbooks, risk registers, and issue logs.
• Identify and mitigate payroll risks by analysing control failures and audit findings, driving corrective actions.
• Partner with stakeholders across Payroll, HR, Finance, Technology, Internal Audit, and third-party providers to strengthen governance and support improvements.
