Job summary

GXO Logistics, Inc. is seeking a Payroll Governance & Controls Analyst to safeguard payroll integrity across the business. Based in Northampton with hybrid flexibility, you’ll lead governance, testing, and SOX readiness, while partnering with Payroll, HR, Finance and IT to drive continuous improvement.

You’ll apply a strong controls mindset, manage runbooks and risk registers, and deliver compliant payroll operations in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Payroll experience in a large, complex organisation with UK payroll knowledge.
• Experience delivering governance, compliance, risk, audit or controls.
• Strong analytical ability and proficiency in Excel.
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
• CIPP qualification or equivalent is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead payroll governance and controls activities, auditing runbooks, testing controls, and maintaining governance frameworks across payroll operations.
• Support SOX requirements and manage audits, evidence collection, and remediation actions.
• Maintain payroll documentation, risk registers, issue logs, and action trackers.
• Identify payroll risks and drive corrective actions and continuous improvement.
• Partner with Payroll, HR, Finance, Technology and external providers to strengthen governance and support transformation.
