Job description

RECfinancial is currently shortlisting for a Leicestershire-based Practice to recruit an experienced Payroll Administrator on a permanent basis. This well-known business has a strong reputation within its field and aims to strengthen its team.

Reporting to the Payroll Manager, you will play an integral role in ensuring all payroll activities are compliant with HMRC, pensions, and that payments are accurate.

What will your role as Payroll Administrator involve?
  1. Organizing and prioritizing your workload, maintaining an up-to-date task list.
  2. Processing payroll according to weekly and monthly schedules.
  3. Verifying the accuracy of PAYE, NI, and pension deductions; ensuring compliance with RTI and auto-enrolment regulations.
  4. Handling client communications, including payroll reports and compliance submissions.
  5. Managing PAYE and pension payments, and registering relevant schemes.
  6. Addressing all payroll queries professionally.
What do we require from the Payroll Administrator?
  1. Strong technical knowledge of payroll, including calculations, PAYE/NI thresholds, and pension schemes.
  2. Experience with systems such as Sage or Xero would be advantageous.
  3. CIS returns experience is a bonus but not essential.
  4. Ability to assist and mentor team members and cover for the Payroll Manager as needed.
  5. Effective communication with management and maintaining confidentiality is essential.

  • £28,000 - £33,000 DOE
  • Hybrid working: 3 days in the office, 2 days at home (after probation)
