Payroll Administrator (fixed-term 12 months contract)

Lithia UK, Remote

Competitive salary, pension, critical illness, life assurance, 25 days holiday (plus bank holidays), exclusive company discounts on used car purchases, leasing deals and aftersales services

At Lithia UK, we’re on an exciting journey to modernise and elevate how we support our people – and our move to Workday is a big part of that. We’re now looking for a Payroll Administrator to play a key role in the day-to-day management of our HR and Payroll systems.

Whether your background is in HRIS, payroll, or both, what matters most is your hands-on experience and your passion for delivering smooth, accurate and people-focused processes. This is a brilliant opportunity to join our growing team at a time of positive transformation – and help shape how we do things moving forward.

Your Journey as a Payroll Administrator:

  • Managing and maintaining core HR and payroll data in Workday, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and data integrity across the system
  • Acting as a subject matter expert for Workday processes – helping to resolve issues, support users, and respond to queries with confidence and care
  • Supporting the monthly payroll cycle by running reports, checking data inputs, and liaising with the payroll team to make sure everything runs on time and to plan
  • Creating and maintaining documentation for payroll and HRIS processes to support consistency and knowledge sharing
  • Collaborating with our HR, Payroll, and IT teams to identify system and process improvements that enhance the employee experience
  • Supporting testing and implementation of system updates and new functionality
  • Keeping on top of changes in Workday capabilities and releases – making recommendations on what can support our evolving needs

Are You Ready to Embrace the Challenge? We’re looking for someone who is:

  • Practical experience using SAP and/or ResourceLink is required with Workday experience being desirable- ideally with experience maintaining employee data, supporting reporting, or handling payroll-related activities
  • An understanding of HR and/or payroll processes, with great attention to detail and a commitment to data accuracy
  • Strong communication skills – you’re comfortable engaging with stakeholders at all levels and explaining processes clearly
  • A collaborative mindset – you enjoy working across teams and being part of a supportive, solutions-focused environment
  • Confidence using systems and reporting tools, with the ability to spot opportunities for efficiency and improvement
  • A proactive approach to learning and continuous improvement – you like to stay curious, build your knowledge, and help others do the same

At Lithia UK, our growth is powered by our people:

As one of the largest automotive retailers globally, we’re passionate about transforming the future of personal transportation and setting new standards for exceptional customer experiences. Our values—Earn Customers for Life, Improve Constantly, Take Personal Ownership, and Have Fun!—fuel everything we do. Join us, and you’ll be part of a team that embraces innovation, champions personal growth, and celebrates success together.
