Job summary

Confidential is seeking a Payroll Administrator in Eastleigh, Hampshire, to join a growing team delivering accurate weekly, fortnightly and monthly payrolls for a diverse client base across the UK.

You’ll process payroll data, manage deadlines, handle client queries, and support pension auto-enrolment and statutory payments. Hybrid working and training are available to develop your payroll career.

Qualifications

  • Experience in payroll administration, ideally within an accountancy practice or payroll bureau.
  • Understanding of PAYE, National Insurance and workplace pensions.
  • Familiarity with SSP and statutory family leave is advantageous.
  • Strong numerical skills and attention to detail.
  • Good organisational and time management skills.
  • Professional communication with clients and colleagues.
  • Competent IT skills including Microsoft Office and Excel.

Responsibilities

  • Process weekly, fortnightly and monthly payrolls for a diverse client portfolio.
  • Collate and input payroll information accurately and by deadlines.
  • Assist with payroll reconciliations and payroll reports.
  • Support auto-enrolment pension administration and submissions.
  • Respond to client, HMRC and internal payroll queries professionally.
  • Assist calculation of statutory payments (SSP and family leave).
  • Maintain and update payroll records and documentation.
  • Support onboarding of new clients and payroll system setup.
  • Collaborate with the payroll team to ensure high service standards.

As a Payroll Administrator, you will support the delivery of accurate and efficient payroll services across a varied client portfolio. Working closely with experienced colleagues, you will assist with processing weekly, fortnightly and monthly payrolls, responding to client queries and ensuring payroll deadlines are consistently met.

Key Responsibilities


  • Process weekly, fortnightly and monthly payrolls for a diverse portfolio of clients.

  • Collate and input payroll information, ensuring data is accurate and processed within the required deadlines.

  • Assist with payroll reconciliations and the preparation of payroll reports.

  • Support the administration of pension auto-enrolment and related submissions.

  • Respond to client, HMRC and internal payroll queries in a professional and timely manner.

  • Assist with the calculation of statutory payments, including SSP and statutory family leave.

  • Maintain accurate payroll records and ensure relevant documentation is kept up to date.

  • Support the onboarding of new clients and the setup of payroll systems.

  • Work collaboratively with the wider payroll team to ensure a high standard of service.


Requirements


  • Previous experience in payroll administration, ideally within an accountancy practice or payroll bureau environment.

  • A good understanding of payroll processes, including PAYE, National Insurance and workplace pensions.

  • Familiarity with statutory payments, including SSP and statutory family leave, would be advantageous.

  • Strong numerical skills and excellent attention to detail.

  • Good organisational skills, with the ability to manage workloads and meet deadlines.

  • Confident communication skills, with a professional and client-focused approach.

  • Competent IT skills, including Microsoft Office and Excel.

  • A proactive attitude and willingness to learn and develop within a growing team.

  • Salary of £26,000 - £30,000 per annum, depending on experience.
