Gray Construction is seeking an experienced Payroll Administrator to work in our Lexington, KY office.

What we expect… (Essential Functions)

  1. Process payroll for multiple legal entities, review reports for accuracy, and correct errors.
  2. Import time electronically and review for accurate payroll processing.
  3. Review team member personnel records to verify demographic, pay, benefit and deduction information.
  4. Direct computation of pay according to company policy and in accordance with wage and hour regulations.
  5. Assist with creating and submitting garnishment processing and benefit contribution deposits, including 401k and HSA.
  6. Assist with audits of payroll data for workers’ compensation, benefit plans and other periodic projects as needed.
  7. Resolve payroll issues and respond promptly to all payroll related questions from employees.
  8. Support Payroll Manager as needed.

Generally, normal office environment where noise level is moderate, and temperature/humidity is controlled. Overtime may be required.

Supervisory Responsibilities

This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

The successful candidate will have an associate degree and three (3) years of experience in payroll processing, or the equivalent combination of education and experience totaling five (5) years. In addition:

  • Must have experience in using UKG or a similar, cloud-based payroll system.
  • Proficient computer skills including advanced knowledge of word processing, spreadsheets, Microsoft Office software.
  • High attention to detail; highly organized, dependable and committed to helping people.
  • Excellent communication skills, multi-tasking, and problem-solving skills.
