Job summary

Clear Street is seeking a Software Engineer on the Payments team to scale and modernise our global payments infrastructure. You will build API-driven systems that integrate with banks and gateways, enabling expansion into new business lines and automating complex workflows.

You will work with product, design, and backend engineers to implement reliable, well-tested components, improve performance and accessibility, and maintain high service levels.

Qualifications

• Master Java and Spring Boot.
• Ability to tweak TypeScript/React, Go and Python.
• Experience building API-driven, scalable payment systems.
• Track record of delivering high-quality software with strong testing.

Responsibilities

• Engineer reliable API-driven payment systems for global expansion.
• Translate requirements into clean, maintainable components.
• Collaborate with product, design, ops, and backend engineers to deliver quality experiences.
• Identify and resolve performance, accessibility, and usability issues.
• Contribute to shared libraries and uphold engineering standards.
