Job summary

Barclays, within Barclaycard Payments, is recruiting a Solutions Consultant for a 12-month secondment. You will lead technical qualification, design scalable payment architectures, and drive pre-sales engagement across Gateway, Acquiring and Fraud solutions.

You will partner with Coverage, Product and client technical teams to understand requirements, produce designs, and validate solutions for commercial viability and alignment with Barclays product capabilities.

Qualifications

• Experience within the Payments sector.
• Technical pre-sales, solution consulting, solution engineering or solutions architecture experience.
• An understanding of payment gateway architecture and transaction processing.
• Experience designing API-based solutions and integrations and working with external development teams designing workflows and messages.
• Working knowledge of REST APIs, JSON, webhooks, authentication frameworks, POS providers and ISVs.
• Experience producing solution architecture diagrams and technical documentation.
• Knowledge of ecommerce platforms such as Adobe Commerce, Shopify, Salesforce Commerce Cloud, BigCommerce or WooCommerce.
• Understanding of payment ecosystem participants including: Acquirers, Issuers, Processors, Payment Schemes, PSPs and Fraud Providers.

Responsibilities

• Lead technical qualification, solution design and pre-sales engagement for complex payment opportunities.
• Partner with product, services and client technical teams to design scalable payment architectures.
• Conduct discovery sessions, produce solution designs and assess risks to ensure feasible, commercial solutions.
• Guide customers through architectural decision-making and validate solution fit within Barclays card payments capabilities.
• Develop compelling pitches and proposals to convey value and drive solution adoption.
• Identify and analyze customer feedback to inform product development and sales strategies.
• Monitor lead conversion and other sales metrics to support performance improvements.
