Job summary

Barclays is seeking a Solution Architect in London to lead the design of a new Payments Acquiring business. You will replace legacy tech with modern SaaS for Finance, Risk and HR, and ensure cloud systems work together seamlessly.

You will design end-to-end solutions, collaborate with SaaS vendors and internal teams, build architecture diagrams and roadmaps, and present proposals to governance bodies to secure approvals.

Qualifications

• End-to-end enterprise systems and cloud design experience.
• Experience with APIs, event-driven design, AWS and SaaS platforms.
• Ability to draw C4 architecture diagrams and write clear docs.
• Strong stakeholder management and ability to lead decisions.

Responsibilities

• Design End‑to‑End Solutions: plan how new SaaS systems, cloud infrastructure (AWS), and data integrations connect.
• Work with Partners: collaborate with internal tech teams, SaaS vendors and partners to guide decisions.
• Build Diagrams & Documentation: create and maintain C4 diagrams, app inventories, tech roadmaps.
• Lead Governance: present designs to Architecture Review Boards and risk forums for approval.
• Guide Technical Choices: evaluate options to keep systems cost‑effective, maintainable and low‑risk.
