Job summary

Hampshire and Isle of Wight Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust is seeking an experienced Pay and Transactional Team Leader to oversee day-to-day payroll and employee data administration. You will lead a small team, ensure accurate pay processing, respond to escalations on Agenda for Change and ESR queries, and work with managers to drive service improvements.

The role focuses on delivering efficient, confidential payroll services across the Trust, with reporting, data governance and KPI monitoring.

Qualifications

• Experience with Agenda for Change, ESR and payroll-related queries.

Responsibilities

• Provide day-to-day leadership and support to the Pay and Transactional Team.
• Ensure the delivery of accurate and timely pay and people administration services.
• Act as a point of escalation for complex Agenda for Change, ESR and pay-related queries.
• Support, coach and develop team members, identifying training and development needs.
• Monitor service performance and contribute to the achievement of KPIs.
• Lead on service improvements, process redesign and efficiency initiatives.
• Produce and analyse reports, audits and workforce data to support decision-making.
• Develop and maintain strong working relationships with managers, staff and external stakeholders.
• Support projects, policy implementation and organisational change initiatives across People Services.
• Ensure compliance with Trust policies, NHS employment legislation and data governance requirements.
