Job summary

University Hospital Southampton NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a Patient Pathway Coordinator to support the Cancer Care team. You will manage communications with patients, align appointments with the Trust's access policy, and arrange clinic and admission changes.

The role is fixed-term until March 2027 to backfill maternity/shared parental/adoption leave; Home Office rules indicate no Skilled Worker visa sponsorship.

Qualifications

• Good standard of secondary education with literacy and numeracy to GCSE level or equivalent.
• Level 3 qualification in administration or customer service or equivalent experience.
• Knowledge of secretarial or administrative procedures.
• Experience as an administrator or secretary in a customer-focused environment.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate clinic/admission changes and monitor attendance; rearrange future appointments as needed.
• Provide admin support for consultants, including diaries, leave, expenses and correspondence.
• Maintain up-to-date patient records and filing system; ensure deadlines are met.
• Take minutes or notes at meetings and distribute appropriately.
• Arrange inpatient appointments and waiting lists; manage changes and cancellations as required.
• Provide cover for other Patient Administrators to ensure a consistent admin service.
