Job summary

Milton Keynes University Hospital NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a Patient Pathway Co-ordinator to provide essential administration support to consultants and Allied Health Professionals, ensuring smooth patient pathways from referral through discharge. The role emphasizes proactive coordination, high attention to detail, and the ability to work within a team to meet the 18-week target.

Previous medical secretary experience is desirable, and a fixed-term contract is offered until October 2027,

Qualifications

• Previous medical secretary or clinical administrative experience.
• Working knowledge of E-care, E-referral and Patient Tracking Lists is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Ensure a safe and smooth pathway for all patients from referral to discharge.
• Proactively coordinate patient pathways in line with national and local policies, arrange appointments and tests, review results, escalate to clinicians, liaise with departments and keep MKUH systems updated.
• Provide a comprehensive senior administration service to clinicians and teams within a designated specialty.
• Support clinical and operational teams to deliver an efficient outpatient service and assist with setting up outpatient clinics (booking/cancelling rooms, clinic templates).
