Job summary

Southern Cross School in Oldham is seeking a Pathways Teaching Assistant (Keyworker/Mentor) to support pupils with SEMH across school, community and home settings. You will build trusting relationships, help re-engage with learning and support personalised pathways alongside teachers and therapists.

The role focuses on delivering engaging activities linked to pupils' interests, supporting educational pathways including PSHE, sports and arts, and providing full training.

Qualifications

• Experience with SEMH needs or barriers to learning.
• Ability to build strong, trusting relationships with pupils and families.
• Confident working independently and using initiative.

Responsibilities

• Support pupils in school and community/home settings to re-engage with education.
• Build trusting relationships to improve engagement, attendance and wellbeing.
• Deliver engaging activities and help pupils access personalised learning pathways (PSHE, sports, arts, accredited programmes).
