Job summary

Engage Education is supporting a forward-thinking secondary school in North Manchester to recruit a Pastoral Mentor. The role focuses on 1:1 and small group academic support for KS3/KS4 students with SEMH needs, delivered outside the classroom to enhance progression.

The successful candidate will have a 2:2 UK degree, proven SEMH experience, and strong communication and organisational skills. Monday–Friday, 08:30–15:15, term-time pay (£94–£100/day).

Qualifications

• UK-based degree minimum 2:2.
• Experience supporting individuals with SEMH needs.
• Resilient, patient and hard-working.
• Ability to build rapport with challenging students.
• Strong communication and organisation skills.

Responsibilities

• Support KS3 & KS4 students with SEMH needs.
• Create engaging learning experiences across a variety of subjects.
• Conduct tailored support outside of class setting.
• Monitor progression and address weak points.
