Job summary

Tradewind Recruitment is supporting a Secondary SEMH school in Stockport to recruit a compassionate Youth Mentor. You will provide one-to-one and small-group mentoring to pupils facing anxiety, ADHD, trauma and behavioural challenges, helping them build resilience, confidence and positive behaviours.

You will work alongside teachers and pastoral staff in a safe, structured environment, delivering individual support plans and recording progress.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting young people in education or care settings.
• Ability to mentor individuals and small groups effectively.
• Patience, empathy and resilience in challenging situations.
• Ability to implement behaviour support strategies and monitor progress.
• Good communication with pupils, teachers and families.

Responsibilities

• Build positive relationships with pupils.
• Provide one-to-one and small-group mentoring and pastoral support.
• Help pupils develop emotional regulation and positive behaviours.
• Support pupils during lessons, breaks and structured activities.
• Implement individual behaviour support plans and interventions.
• Monitor and record pupil progress, behaviour and wellbeing.
• Create a calm, safe, inclusive learning environment.
