St George's University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a Biomedical Support Worker (Band 2) to join the Cellular Pathology Team at St George's Hospital, Tooting. The post offers the opportunity to support cancer diagnostics testing, prepare samples, input data and maintain laboratory equipment.

Successful candidates will work as part of a team, undertake training, manage their own workload and perform data entry using the pathology computer system.

Qualifications

• Good literacy, biology, numeracy and communication skills.
• Experience with data entry and medical terminology is advantageous.
• Ability to work as part of a team and manage own workload.

Responsabilités

• To work in a designated area of the department under supervision and organise own tasks.
• To understand and perform work according to standard policies using basic theory.
• Maintain documentation to SWL Pathology standards (including electronic records).
• Prepare specimens for diagnostic testing.
• Contribute to a culture of quality and support accreditation efforts.
