Job summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a motivated Higher Biomedical Support Worker to join the Cellular Pathology Department at Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust. This full-time, permanent role supports high-quality diagnostic services across multiple specialist areas and involves handling human tissue samples, bodily fluids and laboratory chemicals.

You will be part of a forward-thinking department, with in-house training to attain laboratory competency and a Monday–Saturday 7:30 to 7:30

Qualifications

• Experience working in a laboratory or diagnostic environment.
• Ability to perform routine and more complex laboratory tasks, sometimes under supervision.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining accuracy and quality.

Responsibilities

• Collecting, receiving and assisting in the processing of cellular pathology specimens.
• Organising tasks for support workers and training junior staff where needed.
• Assisting in ordering, receipt and control of consumables and general departmental management.
