Job summary

Bedfordshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is inviting applications for a Band 3 Higher Biomedical Associate in the Cellular Pathology team. The role is based primarily at the Bedford Hospital Cellular Pathology Laboratory with some shifts at Luton & Dunstable, offering varied experience across two sites.

Applicants should have a solid histology background, practical immunohistochemistry skills, and experience with histology automation.

Qualifications

• Solid general histology background with hands-on immunohistochemistry experience.
• Experience with histology automation and automated processes.
• Knowledge of UKAS accreditation and HTA/MHRA regulations.

Responsibilities

• Assist with the day-to-day operational and technical activities of the Cellular Pathology service.
• Support the delivery of diagnostic services in line with quality standards.
• Contribute to training and competency assessment of scientific and support staff.
• Adhere to departmental policies, procedures and regulatory standards.
