Job summary

Cambridge University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust in Cambridge is seeking a part-time Biomedical Support Worker (Band 3) to support the Haematopathology-Oncology Diagnostic Service. The role includes reception, data entry, sample handling, and routine laboratory tasks in a busy NHS laboratory.

Ideal candidates will have NHS laboratory experience, strong communication and accuracy, and the ability to work 7.5 hours weekly on Mondays 9am–5pm. Interviews will be held in person.

Qualifications

• A good general education to GCSE/ A level.
• Previous practical experience within a customer service environment.
• Previous NHS experience.

Responsibilities

• Perform various laboratory procedures, as requested, following departmental operating procedures and full training.
• Perform some laboratory tasks without supervision.
• In conjunction with others, assist with the maintenance of sufficient laboratory supplies to maintain the service.
• Perform sample reception / clerking of specimens and return of results.
