Job summary

Westray Recruitment Group has a temporary to permanent Handyman opportunity for a practical, reliable tradesperson. You will perform PAT testing, inspect electrical equipment and maintain records across multiple sites in the UK region.

The role is 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 08:00–16:00, with pay at £15.00–£15.50 per hour. You should be proactive, safety-conscious and comfortable travelling to customer sites as required.

Qualifications

• Experience with PAT testing and electrical safety.
• Ability to work independently and maintain records.
• Good communication and customer service skills.

Responsibilities

• Carry out visual inspections and electrical safety testing of portable and movable electrical equipment.
• Identify damaged, defective or potentially unsafe equipment.
• Complete PAT testing using appropriate calibrated testing equipment.
• Apply appropriate test labels and identify equipment requiring further attention.
• Maintain accurate records of all equipment tested and test results.
• Produce reports and documentation as required.
• Follow site-specific health and safety procedures and risk assessments.
• Report any electrical safety concerns or defective equipment to the relevant person.
• Liaise professionally with customers, site staff and colleagues.
• Work efficiently while maintaining a high standard of accuracy.
• Ensure testing equipment is properly maintained and used correctly.
• Comply with company policies, procedures and relevant electrical safety requirements.
• Travel to customer sites where required.
