Job summary

FRONTrunner Recruitment Ltd in the United Kingdom is seeking a Portable Appliance Tester to cover sites from Newcastle to Middlesbrough. You will test portable appliances on large commercial sites and travel between 1–2 sites per day, with occasional 3rd site.

The role offers a base of £27,000 with a realistic OTE of £38–£40k, plus bonuses per tests, travel pay, a company van, phone, and other testing equipment. 23 days holiday and bank holidays, with overtime weekends and KPI bonuses.

Qualifications

• Testing portable appliances on large commercial sites.
• Must be able to travel to 1–2 sites per day (3rd site occasionally).
• Full UK driving licence required; DBS check clearance.

Job description

My client is a very well respected electrical compliance and testing company that has been established for well over 40 years, they cover all over the UK and can claim a lot of very well known companies and organisations as customers. They pride themselves on their engineers’ skills as well as always being one step ahead of the ever changing electrical regulations. They are NICEIC, CHAS, Safe Contractor and BAFE compliant and take their service very seriously to make sure their clients always come back in the future.

They are recruiting for Portable Appliance Testers (PAT), you will be:-

• Testing portable appliances on large commercial sites
• Going to 1 or 2 sites per day – extra bonuses if you have to go to a 3rd site that day which isn’t very often
• Covering Newcastle to Middlesbrough

Salary and Benefits for a PAT Tester:-

• 27k basic salary – realistic OTE of 38-40k OTE
• Bonus scheme for the amount of items tested per day–15p, 25p or 35p per test after daily targets are hit
• Travel pay

Skills / experience needed to be a PAT Tester:-

• Living close to Newcastle would be ideal as a lot of work in and around that area but would look at someone anywhere on patch
• C&G 2377 PAT course or equivalent needed
• Experience doing portable appliance testing
• Full UK driving licence
• Be able to pass a DBS check
