Job summary

Westray Recruitment Consultants Ltd represents a well‑established client in Washington seeking a dependable PAT Tester to join on a temporary to permanent basis. The role involves inspecting and testing portable electrical equipment, recording results, and ensuring compliance with health and safety requirements.

Hours are 40 per week, Monday to Friday, with pay £15.00–£15.50 per hour. You should have a practical hands‑on approach, experience with PAT testing, and the ability to liaise with site

Qualifications

• Experience carrying out PAT testing.
• Good understanding of electrical safety principles.
• Competent in using PAT testing equipment.
• Accurate record keeping and documentation.
• Ability to work independently and manage workload.
• Good communication and customer service skills.
• Relevant electrical or PAT testing qualification/training.
• Dependable, practical and proactive with safety focus.

Responsibilities

• Carry out visual inspections and electrical safety testing of portable equipment.
• Identify damaged or unsafe equipment.
• Complete PAT testing with calibrated equipment.
• Maintain records of all equipment tested and results.
• Produce reports and documentation as required.
• Follow site health and safety procedures and risk assessments.
• Travel to customer sites as required.
• Liaise professionally with customers and staff.
