Job summary

TeacherActive is recruiting a Pastoral Support Manager for a Birmingham-based Academy. This permanent role offers 37 hours per week across 43 weeks, with day-rate pay of £150-£185 and a strong emphasis on student wellbeing and safeguarding.

You will work with Progress Leaders to support year-group priorities, guide personal development, and build positive, trusting relationships with pupils while maintaining high expectations for learning and progress.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting the social, emotional and educational development of students.
• Ability to build positive and trusting relationships with young people.
• Driven, empathetic and organised approach to pastoral support.
• Understanding of the National Curriculum, particularly core subject areas.
• Proven track record of raising standards and pupil achievement.

Responsibilities

• Support the strategic direction of the year group alongside Progress Leaders.
• Provide guidance around students' learning, wellbeing, health and safety and personal development.
• Work proactively with vulnerable students to raise attainment and wellbeing.

The Academy is looking to appoint a Pastoral Support Manager on a permanent basis, working 37 hours per week for 43 weeks of the year. The successful Pastoral Support Manager will work alongside Progress Leaders to support the strategic direction of the year group, provide guidance around students' learning, emotional and social wellbeing, health and safety and personal development, and work proactively with vulnerable students.

The successful Pastoral Support Manager will have:

• A minimum of 5 GCSEs including Maths and English at grades 4-9, or equivalent
• An understanding of the National Curriculum, particularly core subject areas
• A proven record of raising standards and pupil achievement
• Experience supporting the social, emotional and educational development of students
• The ability to build positive and trusting relationships with young people
• A driven, empathetic and organised approach to pastoral support
