Job summary

TeacherActive Limited. is supporting an Academy in Birmingham in appointing a Pastoral Support Manager. The role is permanent, 37 hours per week across 43 weeks, working with Progress Leaders to steer year-group direction and support student learning, wellbeing, health and safety, and personal development.

The successful candidate will nurture positive relationships, raise standards, and advocate for vulnerable students through a driven, empathetic, organised approach to pastoral care.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 GCSEs including Maths and English at grades 4-9 or equivalent.
• Understanding of the National Curriculum, particularly core subject areas.
• Proven record of raising standards and pupil achievement.
• Experience supporting the social, emotional and educational development of students.

Responsibilities

• Support the strategic direction of the year group alongside Progress Leaders.
• Provide guidance around students' learning, emotional and social wellbeing, health and safety and personal development.
• Work proactively with vulnerable students.

The Academy is looking to appoint a Pastoral Support Manager on a permanent basis, working 37 hours per week for 43 weeks of the year. The successful Pastoral Support Manager will work alongside Progress Leaders to support the strategic direction of the year group, provide guidance around students' learning, emotional and social wellbeing, health and safety and personal development, and work proactively with vulnerable students.

The successful Pastoral Support Manager will have:

• A minimum of 5 GCSEs including Maths and English at grades 4-9, or equivalent
• An understanding of the National Curriculum, particularly core subject areas
• A proven record of raising standards and pupil achievement
• Experience supporting the social, emotional and educational development of students
• The ability to build positive and trusting relationships with young people
• A driven, empathetic and organised approach to pastoral support
