Job summary

E-ACT Shenley Academy in Birmingham is seeking a Pastoral Support Manager to champion student wellbeing, build trusting relationships, and lead compassionate support strategies.

You will collaborate with Progress Leaders, uphold the academy's values, and identify opportunities to innovate for the benefit of students and staff. This is a permanent, full‑time role with structured wellbeing focus and a strong, supportive environment.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 5 GCSEs including Maths and English (grades 4-9) or equivalent.
  • Understanding of the national curriculum especially core subject areas.
  • Proven record of raising standards and pupil achievement.
  • Experience of supporting the social, emotional and educational development of students.

Responsibilities

  • To support the Progress Leaders to develop strategic direction for the Year
  • To ensure that the values, principles and mission of the Academy are evident in the discharge of the duties of the post
  • To identify opportunities to innovate and bring benefit to the Academy and its stakeholders
  • To provide support and advice to students with respect to their learning, emotional and social well-being, health and safety and personal development
  • To work proactively with vulnerable students

Pay range:

SCP 26 - 28 £37,344.57 - £39,220.05

(FTE: £38,510.00 - £40,444.00)

37 hours per week, 43 weeks per year
