Red Kite School, part of Outcomes First Group, is seeking a dedicated Pastoral Support Worker to help pupils overcome barriers, boost confidence and achieve their potential. You will work closely with staff, families and external agencies to deliver targeted interventions, monitor wellbeing, attendance and engagement, and promote a safe, nurturing school environment.

Located in Princes Risborough, Buckinghamshire, the independent special school serves up to 60 students aged 11-18 with SEMH

Qualifications

• GCSE Maths and English C or above.
• Ability to build relationships with students and families.
• Experience delivering pastoral interventions and mentoring.
• Commitment to safeguarding and promoting welfare of students.

Responsibilities

• Provide 1:1 and small group mentoring to students needing support.
• Support students' wellbeing, behaviour, attendance and engagement.
• Assist during lessons, breaktimes and lunchtimes to promote positive behaviour.
• Build strong relationships with parents/carers and act as contact point.
• Collaborate with teachers, staff and external agencies to meet student needs.
• Deliver pastoral interventions and contribute to support plans.
• Monitor rewards, behaviour strategies and interventions.
• Attend review meetings and discuss student progress and welfare.

We are looking for a caring, resilient, and proactive Pastoral Support Worker to join our dedicated team. This is a rewarding opportunity to work closely with students, families, teachers, and senior leaders to provide targeted pastoral support that enables every student to thrive both academically and personally. As a Pastoral Support Worker, you will play a key role in supporting students' wellbeing, behaviour, attendance, and engagement in education. You will build positive relationships with students and their families, deliver interventions, provide mentoring, and help create a safe, supportive, and nurturing school environment. Working alongside the Senior Leadership Team, you will identify students who need additional support and deliver targeted strategies that help them succeed in school and beyond. What you will be doing

• Providing 1:1 and small group mentoring for students requiring additional support.
• Supporting students' wellbeing, behaviour, attendance, and engagement with learning.
• Assisting students during lessons, breaktimes, and lunchtimes to promote positive behaviour and social development.
• Building strong relationships with parents/carers and acting as a key point of contact.
• Working with teachers, support staff, curriculum leaders, and external agencies to ensure students receive appropriate support.
• Delivering pastoral interventions and contributing to support plans for individual students.
• Monitoring and implementing rewards, behaviour strategies, and targeted interventions.
• Attending review meetings and contributing to discussions around student progress and welfare.
• Providing guidance and signposting families to relevant support services where appropriate.
• Supporting safeguarding practices and promoting the welfare of all students.

What will you be doing

• Maths and English GCSE C or above equivalent required.
• Provide 1:1 and small group mentoring to support students' wellbeing, behaviour, attendance, and engagement.
• Deliver targeted pastoral interventions and contribute to individual support plans.
• Support students during lessons, breaktimes, and lunchtimes, promoting positive behaviour and participation.
• Build effective relationships with parents/carers, providing updates, guidance, and signposting to support services.
• Work collaboratively with teachers, support staff, senior leaders, and external agencies to meet students' needs.
• Monitor and implement rewards, behaviour strategies, and interventions to help students succeed.
• Attend review meetings and contribute to safeguarding, welfare, and student progress discussions.
