Job summary

Poole High School, part of Twynham Learning, is recruiting a pastoral officer to support welfare and safeguarding across every year group. You will work with students and families to maximise learning and run induction for new arrivals.

This is a full-time post (37 hours per week) with DBS checks and UK work eligibility required. You will join a dedicated senior leadership team and help promote the welfare of children in line with school policies.

Job description

Poole High School, part of the Twynham Learning multi-academy trust, is recruiting a pastoral officer to work alongside its senior leadership team. The role centres on welfare and safeguarding oversight across every year group, handling pastoral issues and running induction for new arrivals. Working with students and families to support their learning, the post follows a set weekday pattern of 37 hours. Visa sponsorship is not available, and the successful candidate must pass an enhanced DBS check.

What the job involves

• Assist the senior leadership team in overseeing pastoral welfare and safeguarding of students in each year group
• Deal with pastoral and welfare issues

• Support and work with students and families to maximise individual learning
• Promote and safeguard the welfare of children and young people in line with the school's safeguarding and child protection policies
