Wirral Metropolitan College is recruiting a part-time Pastoral Coach (term time only) to support students through 1:1 coaching, Thrive Tutorial delivery, and targeted personal development activities. The role focuses on improving behaviours, attendance, and welfare within a supportive college environment.

The post emphasizes building social and cultural capital, group work, and collaboration with tutors to deliver engaging sessions that promote student progression and wellbeing.

Qualifications

• Level 3 qualification in a relevant subject.
• Maths and English at least Level 2 (grade C/4).
• Experience coaching or mentoring young people.
• Experience delivering group sessions.
• Ability to motivate learners and support attendance.

Responsabilités

• Provide one-to-one coaching for students, setting and reviewing targets to improve performance, behaviours and welfare.
• Adapt and deliver Thrive Tutorial sessions to groups of students and facilitate discussion activities.
• Build students' social and cultural capital by creating opportunities for engagement with wider college life, community, enrichment, current affairs, cultural learning and positive social interaction.
• To be a key member of the Personal Development Process (specifically to drive student attendance and progress across all provision).

Pastoral Coach (term time only)

We are looking for a Pastoral Coach to join our team. This is a35 hours per week,term time only role offering a salary of £26,265 to £28,688 per annum.

Job Purpose/Key Responsibilities:

• Provide one-to-one coaching for students, setting and reviewing targets to improve their performance, behaviours and welfare.
• Adapt and deliver Thrive Tutorial sessions to groups of students and facilitate discussion activities.
• Build students' social and cultural capital by creating opportunities for them to engage with wider college life, community experiences, enrichment, current affairs, cultural learning and positive social interaction.
• To be a key member of the Personal Development Process (specifically to drive student attendance and progress across all provision).

Skills and Qualifications:

• Level 3 qualification in a relevant subject
• Minimum Level 2 qualification at grade C/4 in Maths and English
• Knowledge and understanding of how social and cultural capital supports learner confidence, aspiration, employability and progression.
• Experience of using nurturing, coaching or trauma-informed approaches to support young people.
• Delivering group sessions to young people.
• Experience of working with and motivating young people.
