Job summary

Cheshire College South and West is seeking an inspirational Team Leader for the Personal Development Tutor team at Crewe Campus. The role involves line management, delivering high quality tutorials, monitoring attendance, and providing pastoral and safeguarding support for learners.

You will lead group tutorials, conduct 1:1 reviews, manage referrals, and collaborate with Curriculum to ensure attendance, progression and outcomes across the college.

Qualifications

  • Level 4 qualification in a relevant subject (or equivalent).
  • GCSE Grade C (4/5) in Maths and English (or equivalent).
  • PGCE/Cert Ed/Level 3 Education and Training (or equivalent) or actively working towards one of the qualifications.

Responsibilities

  • Line manage and support a team of Personal Development Tutors within the campus area in the delivery of a high quality, engaging, relevant tutorial programme and effective 1:1 reviews.
  • Overview and ensure attendance are robustly challenged and monitoring arrangements are in place to support learners to attend.
  • To carry a small case load of learners and support them in group tutorials and 1:1s.
  • Undertake a key role providing pastoral, welfare and initial safeguarding support for learners and support the College to provide wrap around care for learners.
  • Act as a point of contact for referrals and to make appropriate referrals and
  • To work closely with curriculum and other departments to oversee the support and the quality assurance for attendance, progress and progression

Salary: £32,579 - £36,656 pro rata per annum

Contract Type: Permanent

Hours: 37 hours per week, 40 weeks per year

We are seeking an inspiring individual to join our Personal Development Tutor Team at our Crewe Campus as the Team Leader. This role involves line managing a team of Personal Development Tutors, delivering high quality and effective tutorials, monitoring and ensure attendance is high, undertaking group tutorials and 1:1s and working closely with curriculum areas and other departments to ensure good outcomes for all learners. This position will also play a key role providing pastoral, welfare and initial safeguarding support for learners and supporting the College to provide wrap around care for learners.

Key Person Specification Requirements:
  • Level 4 qualification in a relevant subject (or equivalent)
  • GCSE Grade C (4/5) in Maths and English (or equivalent)
  • PGCE/Cert Ed/Level 3 Education and Training (or equivalent) or actively working towards one of the qualifications
  • The ability to lead a team and ensure that departmental outcomes are achieved
  • Good understanding of the personal development themes covered in a group tutorials
  • Ability to deliver effective group tutorial sessions, including those on more sensitive topics
  • Awareness and understanding of what constitutes excellent pastoral, welfare and academic support
  • A clear understanding of the importance of student target setting, monitoring and reviewing to ensure achievement and a positive outcome for students
  • Enhanced DBS check
